Crofton Engineering was founded in 1953, in a small village near Cambridge. To this day we enjoy a close relationship with the local community
We specialise in the fabrication and installation of steel structures and have enjoyed a long history working with clients across diverse backgrounds. The experience gained over the many years within the industry, partnered with our ability to handle our customer’s needs, no matter how challenging they are, has made Crofton Engineering one of the market leaders in this demanding area.
We have CE Mark to EXC2 (BS EN 1090) for manufacturing and practice a high standard of H&S. Our certificates can be found here.
Our knowledge
Crofton Engineering has the knowledge and experience to assist our clients with their needs, be that with Structural Steel or Architectural Metalwork or in more specialist markets such as Fire Drill Products. We have the proven track record to bring your vision into reality, on time and within budget.
Each project receives the highest level of attention from start to finish. The people involved at each stage, from the initial hand-shake to final delivery, have the pride and depth of knowledge gained through years working within the industry.
Our approach
Our approach allows us to offer a tailored service to each customer regardless of scale. Even though many of the projects on which we work are large they still demand the flexibility and depth of knowledge gained from working on smaller, bespoke projects. No matter what your project you will be handled professionally by our team of project managers.
The needs of our customers come first at Crofton Engineering; as a result we have built long term partnerships with many of our customers. The understanding of each other’s needs results in a far more productive relationship. To us the proof that our approach works is confirmed by the number of long term relationships we enjoy, many of our customers return to us again and again.

We offer a full design service and find the best results are achieved by working closely with our customers at an early stage. Our ability to advise and deliver on Structural Steel and Architectural Metalwork allows us to offer our customers a unique service. The cross-over between structural and architectural work enables Crofton Engineering to a better final product, at a competitive cost, with the minimum headache for our customers.
Each product is constructed individually, with the greatest of care and attention to detail by our experienced fabrication team within our well equipped facilities near Cambridge. This ensures that the end result achieves the highest standards, standing the test of time and exceeding our customer expectations.
